Finally, the moment we've all been waiting for! A language explosion! She's gaining words every day.
Food words include:
Carrot (care-uh)
Pepper (peppuh)
Strawberry (bawbay)
Blueberry (buhbay)
and my favorites
Cracker (crack)
Water (wah-bit/wah-bee)
She says yucky (gucky) when changing her poopy diaper. She also makes the same gargle-y yuck noise that Claire made. She makes a raspberry noise for an elephant noise and raises her arm like a trunk.
No is a frequent word since she is a toddler. Except she says it with a "yuh" sounds like there's a y between the n and o. Like "gno"
Uh oh = uh
Minnie Mouse = meh meh
Claire = cay uh
She loves to color and calls it culluh, culluh!
She says "Brrr" when she is chilly or feels a breeze.
Other developments:
She finally started giving real kisses! She calls them "bah," She likes to give them to Daniel the most but will sometimes be convinced to share with the rest of us.
Her last molar finally slowly breaking through. It's been a mound of gum for weeks (months?). It's causing sleep interruptions again though. She's up to 12 teeth. We also has another ear infection this month which didn't help.
Tantrums are out increasing. And she's waking up grumpy from her naps. Ugh! I remember this period with Claire. With Claire, I started giving her a cup of milk and introduced her to TV. That doesn't work with Ellie. She gets milk on a different schedule and isn't interested in TV. We try giving her a snack and sometimes that helps. And sometimes it just makes her angrier. Sometimes she just wants to snuggle and wake up a little slower I think.
Physically, she's still a little monkey. She loves climbing on the kid's chairs. We've been letting her climb on the kitchen chairs a bit. Which means we have to be careful what we leave on the table! Her skills are getting good enough to give her a little independence at playspaces and playgrounds. It's nice to go the play area at the mall because I can sit with Daniel and supervise rather than following her around.
Moving into 18-24/24 month clothes
