| Sweet, sleepy 1 month old |
Daniel turned 1 month old on December 30th. Here's how he spent New Year's Eve...

...worn out from all the crazy partying of course! Or, enjoying a quiet night with his parents while his sisters were with grandparents.
Sleeping:
We were doing a combo of his crib and the rock n play at night for his sleeping location. It varied depending on whether I remembered to put him in his crib when I put him down at night or after a feeding. And also if I was feeling up for dealing with any sleep interruptions from putting him in the crib. Once I got brave enough to try it a few times we found that he did fine in his crib. So on January 9th, he did the first night all night in his crib. Yay! We still mixed it up for a few weeks after that but he was fully in his crib by the end of January.
Around 6 weeks, his fussiness increased. He wanted to nurse a lot, slept off and on for short period, wanted to be held, and didn't go down for bed as easily. He wasn't going down until 10:30 or so and I was feeling held hostage by a fussy baby!
Then it improved for a few days around 7 weeks. He was calmer in the evenings and went back to going down for bed after nursing around 9:30. He would do a little fussing once in bed or maybe need the paci a couple times before giving in. During the day he would sleep well in the car but cat nap at home. He'd nurse every 2 hours and often fall asleep, but wake up if put down.
At night he would usually wake up twice to eat.
Other stuff:
He started cooing the first week of January, making little hoo noises. He was quirking little grins here and there. On January 25th, he finally worked up to a full smile! Goodness is that addictive!
Around 6 or 7 weeks, his terrible baby acne cleared up, giving him that smooth, beautiful baby complexion. He is in size 1 diapers and wearing 0-3 or 3 month clothes. The newborn stuff has been outgrown and put away! I'd say he's in the 9-10 pound range.
