Daniel's first days

Here are some notes I made to remember Daniel's first few days

Sunday, November 30
born 2:08 am

Quiet, not a lot of crying

Low sugar after birth, had to have checks every few hours

Did well with first nursing

Very sleepy all day, did not want to nurse much later
Lots of visitors during the day
Paaps and Ellie were the first to come by first thing in the morning
Grandma, Grandpa, Claire, Aunt Karen and Uncle Dave came by in the evening

Sunday night: 
Long night, restless, wanted to be held and nursed
He did take the pacifier but wasn't good at keeping it in
Jeff and I took turns having him sleep on or next to us

Monday:

Circumcision in the morning.  It went fine and no after effects

Discharge
Aunt Jamie visited and helped get him dressed to go home
Quiet afternoon at home

Cluster feeding in evening

Night:

Had to force him to eat every 4-5 hours

Restless sleeping, one 3 hour stretch

Tuesday:

We went to lunch at Chili's with my mom and sister (girls still with grandparents)
Then we did a few errands and Christmas shopping

Daniel slept the day away

Serious evening cluster feeding

Jeff and I up a lot between 1 and 2.  Mom took over at 3. She got him to do a 2 hour stretch with the rock n play

Wed:

Doctor's appointment early in the morning

More awake, more frequent day feedings

Less cluster feeding
Claire and Ellie came home

Night:

Ate at 10:00, 2:20, 6:22 but didn't sleep any long stretches

First visitors (besides Grammi)

Ellie meets Daniel for the first time

Visitors!

Siblings!

First bath

Daddy handles a poopy diaper

Hanging out in his bed next to Mommy

Ready to go home

And we're home!

Claire loves to hold him

Ellie wants to be a part of the fun
