With a new baby on the way, it was time to convert my craft room slash dump all room into a real bedroom. First came the paint decisions. I decided on a soft yellow with a purple band at the top. Unfortunately the paint chip samples didn't really match with what the paint actually looked like on the wall. Thus resulting in the picture below: 4 or 5 different yellow samples on the wall before I found the right one!
Once the yellow was decided on, it was time for purple. I liked the first one I got well enough, so I just went with it!
Once the paint was done it was time to fill up the room! We got a new dresser from Ikea and Claire's big girl bed from Rooms to Go. Curtains were a whole other decision process! I finally decided on something simple from Pottery Barn Kids.
Claire's first night in her big girl bed was May 15th. Daddy put her to bed and all went well. Until she fell out of bed in the middle of the night! So the experiment to see if she could stay in bed failed. Up went the bed rail.
The transition was pretty good. There were a few bumps in the road. We had an increase in middle of the night wakings. She also started getting up earlier in the morning. And where she previously would have stayed in bed chatting to herself, now she immediately got of bed and stood at the door crying. She finally settled in though and starting sleeping through the night again.
